ITINERARY
Sunday,
July 11 : Your pilgrimage begins as
you depart the United States on your international flight.
Monday, July 12 : You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our representative and begin our tour with a visit to Caesarea by the Sea where Paul left for his final missionary journey. After our visit at this beautiful site, we'll continue to the Galilee area where we will check into our hotel in Tiberias on the shore of the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight.
Tuesday, July 13 : Today we'll begin with a visit and an opportunity to dig at the archaeological site of Beit Saida, the home of three of the disciples. From there we'll go for some fun as we kayak on the Jordan River. Afterwards we'll continue our tour with a visit to the hills above the Sea, where we find the Mount of Beatitudes. It was here that Jesus gave us the beautiful words from Matthew's Gospel. We'll spend a little quiet time here, as at other sites, for sharing insights and inspiration. Next we'll continue to Capernaum, center of Jesus' Galilean ministry. We'll end the day with a Boat Ride across the Sea of Galilee. Finally, we'll return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Wednesday, July 14:
This morning we'll drive through Cana, where Jesus turned the
water into wine - his first recorded demonstration of God's power. From
there we'll proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his
childhood years. Next we'll travel to the site of King Solomon's
"Chariot City" of Megiddo, atop the ruins of 20
ancient cities overlooking the great battlefield of ancient Palestine. And
finally we'll go to
Mt Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. After
our visit here we'll drive through the hills of the Galilee area back to our
hotel for dinner and overnight.

Thursday, July 15 : We'll awaken early to celebrate the Morning Meal on the Galilean shore. We'll then visit the Jordan River on our way to see the Roman ruins at Beit Shean, which was continuously inhabited for 5,000 years. From there we'll transfer to the Sheikh Hussien Bridge where we'll cross the border to Jordan. We'll travel to Amman for a tour of the highlights of this beautiful city before we check into our hotel for overnight.
Friday, July 16: We'll begin our day today with a visit to the Christian village of Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land. Next, we'll visit Mount Nebo from which Moses viewed the Promised Land. We'll stop to view Machaerus, a mountain-top fortress palace overlooking the Dead Sea, where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded. We'll drive along the King's Highway as we travel to Shawback's Crusader Castle and continue to Petra for dinner and overnight.
Saturday, July 17 : Today we'll explore the
Red Rose City of
Petra. This 2,000-year old city was carved by
the Nabateans out of the native rock. It has been protected through the
centuries by a ring of mountains surrounding the area. We will take a
horse ride to the dramatic "Ciq" or canyon where
we'll see the famous Treasury, carved in pink
stone. We will continue past the
Roman
Theatre, the
Corinthian Tomb and the Palace Tomb
to the Roman Road
where we’ll stop for lunch. Those who wish, can climb
the 900 steps to the “Monastery” for a spectacular
view. We'll travel from Petra to the port city of Aqaba
to cross the border back to Israel. Dinner and overnight
will be in Eilat.

Sunday, July 18 :
Today
before leaving Eilat we'll visit a well-known Bird
Sanctuary to observe the great work they're doing in that strategic
migration route between Africa and Europe. We'll travel through the Negev Desert
on our way to Beer Sheba where we will visit the site
of Abraham's well. This is an example of the wells dug by Abraham's
and Isaac's servants. From there we'll go to a Bedouin Camp in the
desert where we'll learn about the Bedouin way of life - and have an opportunity
to ride a camel! We'll have a delicious Bedouin dinner and overnight in a
Bedouin tent.
Monday, July 19 : This morning after breakfast we'll visit Masada, the amazing mountain-top fortress built by Herod and site of the final battle in the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. After our visit to Masada, we will travel along the Dead Sea, passing En Gedi on our way to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We'll stop for a brief time to "float" in the water of the Dead Sea before we begin our drive up to Jerusalem. On the way we'll pass by Jerico, the world's oldest inhabited city. It was there that Elisha healed the waters of that city. We'll view the Mount of Temptation and the Judean Desert along the way, as well as the ancient Roman Road that runs from Jerico to Jerusalem. We'll enter Jerusalem and stop for a brief view of the city and Bible reading before going to check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.

we'll begin with a visit to the
Mount of Olives

where Jesus went with the disciples on the final night before his crucifixion.
There we'll visit the
Church of All Nations
and the garden with its ancient olive trees. We'll continue to the
Shepherds' Field on
the outskirts of
Bethlehem,
commemorating the birth of Jesus. After that we'll have time for shopping
for Holy Land souvenirs. From there, we'll return to the hotel for dinner

After dinner at the hotel we'll have a testimony meeting with the local Christian Scientists.
