ITINERARY

Sunday, Oct 26: Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the United States on your international flight.

Monday, Oct 27: You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our representative and taken to your hotel in Herzliya up the coast on the Mediterranean Sea.

Tuesday, Oct 28: We begin our day with a drive to see the Roman ruins at Beit Shean, which was continuously inhabited for 5000 years. We'll then drive to the Sheikh Hussein Bridge where we'll cross the border to Jordan. After stopping for a brief visit at the Jabbock River  where Jacob wrestled with the angel, we'll continue to Amman for a tour of the highlights of this beautiful city before we check into our hotel for overnight.

Wednesday, Oct 29: We'll begin our day today with a visit to the Christian village of Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land. Next, we'll visit Mount Nebo from which Moses viewed the Promised Land. We'll stop to view Machaerus, a mountain-top fortress palace overlooking the Dead Sea, where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded. We'll drive along the King's Highway as we travel to Shawback's Crusader Castle and continue to Petra for dinner and overnight.  Stone Wall

Thursday Oct 30: Today we'll explore the Red Rose City of Petra, recently designated one of The Seven Wonders of the World.  This 2000-year old city was carved by the Nabataens out of the native rock. It has been protected through the centuries by a ring of mountains surrounding the area. We will take a horse ride to the dramatic "Ciq" or canyon where we'll then walk to the famous Treasury, carved in pink stone. We will continue past the Roman Theatre, the Corinthian Tomb and the Palace Tomb to the Roman Road. We'll travel from Petra to the port city of Aqaba to cross the border back to Israel. Dinner and overnight will be in Eilat.

Friday, Oct 31: Today before leaving Eilat, we値l visit a well-known Bird Sanctuary to observe the great work they池e doing in that strategic migration route between Africa and Europe. After our visit there we値l travel through the Negev Desert to Masada, the amazing mountain-top fortress built by Herod and site of final battle in the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. After our tour of Masada, we will drive along the shores of the Dead Sea.  After  passing En Gedi,  we値l stop at the Dead Sea for some "floating" on the water. We'll pass Jericho, the world's oldest inhabited city. It was there that Elisha healed the waters of that city.  Finally, we'll go to our hotel in Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. 

Saturday, Nov 1: Today we値l begin with a visit to the archaeological site of Bethsaida, the home of three of the disciples. We値l continue from there to view the Road to Damascus where Paul had his conversion experience. Next we値l visit the foot of Mount Hermon and the ancient Roman city of Caesarea Philippi where Peter first confessed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God.  From there we値l continue our tour with a visit to the hills above the Sea where we find the Mount of Beatitudes. It was here that Jesus gave us the beautiful words from Matthew痴 gospel. We値l continue to Capernaum, the area where Jesus spent most of his ministry. We値l finish the day with a Boat Ride across the Sea of Galilee where we値l stop for reflection. We値l then visit Kibbutz Ginosar where we値l see the ancient boat from the time of Jesus and then return to our hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Jordan River

Sunday, Nov 2: We'll begin our day with a visit to Caesarea by the Sea where Paul left for his final missionary journey and to Mt. Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. Next we'll travel to the site of King Solomon's "Chariot City" of Megiddo, atop the ruins of 20 ancient cities overlooking the great battlefield of ancient Palestine. From there we'll proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood years. We'll drive through Cana, where Jesus turned the water into wine - his first recorded demonstration of God's power. Finally, we'll go to our hotel in Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight.

Monday, Nov 3: We'll awaken early to celebrate the Morning Meal on the Galilean shore. From there we値l continue to visit Zippori, (Sepphoris) not far from Nazareth and a center of learning during the time of Jesus. We値l see the beautiful mosaics and get a feel for the area where Jesus grew up. After a visit to the Jordan River we値l drive to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. After our visit at Qumran,  we値l drive to the Mount of Temptation and the Judean Desert. We'll see part of the Roman Road along the way. We値l enter Jerusalem and stop for a brief view of the city and Bible reading before we check into our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Tuesday, Nov 4: This morning we値l begin our visit in Jerusalem with a stop on the Mount of Olives where we'll see a breathtaking Panoramic View of the Old City of Jerusalem. We'll walk part of the Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus went with the disciples on the final night before his crucifixion. There we'll visit the Church of All Nations and the garden with its ancient olive trees. From there we'll go to the Shepherds' Field in Bethlehem, commemorating the birth of Jesus. We'll finish the day with an opportunity to shop for Holy Land Souvenirs. Finally, we'll return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Bethlehem Shepherd boy

Wednesday, Nov 5: Today we'll begin our day with a visit at the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the crippled man. We'll sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne. We'll visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and walk through the fascinating Arab market. We'll continue to Mount Zion where we'll see the Upper Room and King David's Tomb as well as the House of Caiaphas where Jesus was imprisoned for a night. We'll end the day with a visit to the Model of first Century Jerusalem. After dinner we'll join the local Christian Science Society for a testimony meeting in Jerusalem. We'll return to the hotel for overnight.  

Thursday, Nov 6: Today we will begin with a visit to the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock mosque. From there we'll proceed to the Western Wall, the place most precious for Jews around the world. We'll visit the Roman Cardo in the Jewish Quarter. We'll finish the day with a visit to the Israel Museum which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. Nearby we'll view the Israeli Knesset, seat of the Israeli Parliament and government offices. From there we'll return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Friday, Nov 7: We'll complete our tour of Jerusalem with a very special visit to the Garden Tomb and some time for reflection. We'll spend some time at a Biblical Garden Museum and continue to Jaffa (Joppa) for dinner before going to the airport to check in for our flight back to the USA. 

Saturday, Nov 8: You'll arrive home full of new insights and understandings about the people and lands of the Bible.
