ITINERARY
Day 1: Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the United States on your international flight.
Day 2: You will be welcomed to the Holy Land by our representative and taken to your hotel in the Tel
Aviv area for dinner and a good night's sleep.
Day 3: We'll begin our tour with a visit to Caesarea by the Sea where Paul left for his final
missionary journey and to Mt. Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. Next we'll travel to the site of
King Solomon's "Chariot City" of Megiddo, atop the ruins of 20 ancient cities overlooking the great battlefield of
ancient Palestine. From there we'll proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood years. We'll drive through
Cana, where Jesus
turned the water into win
e - his first recorded demonstration of
God's power - on our way to our hotel in the Galilee area for dinner and
overnight.
Day 4: Today we'll begin with a visit and an opportunity to dig at the newly found site of Beit Saida, the home of three of the disciples. From there we'll go for some fun as we kayak on the Jordan River. Afterwards we'll continue our tour with a visit to the hills above the Sea, where we find the Mount of Beatitudes. It was here that Jesus gave us the beautiful words from Matthew's Gospel. Next we'll continue to Capernaum, center of Jesus' Galilean ministry. We'll end the day with a Boat Ride across the Sea of Galilee. Finally, we'll return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: After rising early to watch the sunrise and quietly commemorate the "morning meal" on the
shore of the Sea of Galilee, we'll travel along the Jordan Valley on our way to see the Roman ruins at Beit She'an,
which was continuously inhabited for 6000 years. We'll continue to Jericho, the world's oldest inhabited city. Nearby
we'll view the Mount of Temptation as we travel through the Judean Desert. We'll proceed to Bethlehem to visit the
Shepherd's Field and the Church of the Nativity, commemorating the birth of
Jesus. In Bethlehem we'll have time to stop
for Holy Land souvenirs. Finally we'll make our way up to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: This morning we'll go to the Mount of Olives where we'll see a breathtaking Panoramic View
of the Old City of Jerusalem. We'll walk a part of the Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane where
Jesus went with the disciples on the final night before his crucifixion. There we'll visit the Church of All Nations and
the garden with its ancient olive trees. We'll enter the Old City of Jerusalem and walk around its Ramparts. We'll
go to the Jewish Quarter where we'll see the Roman Cardo and other sites of interest. We'll continue to theWestern
Wall, the place most precious to Jews around the world. We'll view the Israe
li Knesset on our way to visit the Israel
Museum which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Today we'll visit Masada, the amazing mountain-top fortress built by Herod and site of the
final battle in the Jewish Revolt against the Romans. We'll continue to the Dead Sea and an opportunity for a swim.
We'll view En Gedi on our way to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
and then return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: This morning we'll attend the church service of the Christian Science Society in Jerusalem. From there we'll go to the Temple Mountwhere we'll visit the Dome of the Rock Mosque. We'll continue from there to the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the crippled man. We'll sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne, tour the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and then walk through the fascinating Arab market where we'll have some time for shopping. Next we'll stop at Mount Zion where we'll see theUpper Room. We'll finish our sightseeing today with a tour of the Model of First Century Jerusalem before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Today we'll begin with a visit to the Biblical Resource Center, an outdoor museum which will enhance our understanding of life in Biblical times. We'll finish our tour of Jerusalem with a very special visit to the Garden Tomb and some time for reflection. We'll return to our hotel for a Farewell Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: After breakfast, we'll check in at the Tel Aviv airport for morning departure for the USA.
